Here's a story on how @fratereturns helped one of our merchants save $84 in return-associated costs on a SINGLE returned order... How? By skipping the warehouse and shipping the return directly from the returner to the buyer. Let's go through how it happened... Customer #1 was returning 3 items, based in Fresno, CA. Before Frate, this would have cost the merchant: - $22 return label to Winnipeg - $3 inbound warehousing costs - $5 inventory holding costs - $62 in labels to re-sell all three items - $30 in discounts to re-sell items Total cost to return and re-sell: $122 This doesn't include ~$90 in duties, which are hit or miss to avoid... Now, instead of those items going back to Winnipeg, Frate incentivized Customer #1 with a 10% discount code to hold onto their item for a few extra days, while we re-listed the items as "EcoDrops." One day later, customer #2 purchased all 3 items, based in Sacramento, CA. Using Frate, the merchant incurred: - $30 in discounts - $8 shipping label Total savings using Frate: $84 We list, send label, fulfill, and handle any disputes. Not a single action needed from our partners. Now think of the savings if you're a brand doing over 1,000 returns a month? Magic, right?

In-portal Image Verification is now available to all @fratereturns merchants! ⚡️! 🎉 Why build this? Merchants spend over $200b/year in return-associated costs, with shipping and warehousing being the most substantial. This is driven by the status-quo returns process: items are blindly shipped back to the warehouse, the condition is assessed, then a decision is made on what to do with it. Try and re-sell it? Dispose of it? But what if we could assess the condition and make a decision BEFORE the item is shipped, in a way that doesn't negatively affect the customer-experience? The cost-savings and emissions reduction would be (and are) immense... This demo shows what would happen if a customer tries to return an item that doesn’t meet the return policy. This is another step forward to make returns more cost-effective and sustainable!
