Full disclosure: I live in Germany, but I'd say the tax burden for businesses/solopreneurs is similar-ish, and a solopreneur will bring home significantly less out of the 83k than an employee, which I can't say stimulates small businesses

My business is registered in Austria, and it's probably the worst place in Europe for solopreneurs You will pay 50% of all your income when you reach €83k/year (which is a very mid income for Austria) The social security system in Austria is progressive as well It caps at €90k a year, but expect to pay 40% of your income as social security benefits The funniest part? It covers even less than the regular employee insurance. You'll still need to pay 30% of the cost of your doctor visits, while employees receive coverage at no cost. The system rips you off and discourages you from visiting doctors and caring about your health. High PIT and social security are the reasons why a lot of businesses in Austria go cash and hide money from the state. This obviously only works for physical businesses and things like coaching or consulting. As an owner of a digital business, you have no choice but to carry the whole burden of the system. The system wants you to create a GmbH (local LLC), hire yourself and employees, and pay them a salary. Obviously, this is not an option when you just want to build businesses solo. All of the Austrian solo founders I know are not tax residents here anymore and live elsewhere. If I were to start over, I wouldn't pick to build a business in Austria On the screenshot: the bill I got from Social Security yesterday

More to that, Photon is actually self-hostable: github.com/rtuszik/photon… So there is no need to pull more load to the publicly facing instance hosted by Komoot

Knowing the linked resource is being supported by a team of 1 with appropriate amount of servers, I'd also suggest donating to github.com/lonvia or OSM to keep the reverse geocoding service free

@freymakesstuff V2 was and definitely still is selected in the settings. And at the bottom right of the map itself, you can see "Protomaps (c) OpenStreetMap." Does that mean it's V2?

Looks like a proper google timeline replacement to me

@waschstands Yup, but your screenshots shows the v1 map, right? is the timezone issue solved for you on map v2?

DawarichはこのタイミングでLeafletからMapLibreに変更した。呼び出しているタイルも変わったみたい。このタイル好みではないので変えたいのだけれど、そういうわけにはいかなさそう。機能的には問題ないので、あくまでも好みです。

Started building a dotmap of the world in #SwiftUI, because I thought it would look cool. Then it hit me: I could use my camera roll to populate it with every country I've been to A few weeks later it had turned into an app that scans your photos and dots your travels on the map

@truelinestudio @Inncoder_ You should take a look at dawarich then :) Exactly every your step on the map, privacy first And also extracting points from photos and putting them on the map will be added soon to our apps :)

@Inncoder_ this is such a cool concept, fredrik. reminds me of flighty, but for all trips. being able to add friends would be really cool as well.
