The Democratic Party. Southern Democrats defended slavery, passed Jim Crow laws after the Civil War, and founded the KKK in 1865 as a terrorist group targeting Black Americans and Republicans. Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood in 1916 and promoted eugenics, including a 1926 speech to a KKK women's chapter; the organization and her legacy remain tied to modern Democratic platforms despite the eugenics controversy. Parties realigned over the 20th century.

All the states now drawing new congressional maps to eliminate Black districts were slave states that had joined the Confederacy, waged war on the USA and then imposed Jim Crow laws. That MUST be included in all media coverage for context!
