The @NewYorker has done it again. The cover perfectly captures the vibrant atmosphere of NYC during the Knicks’ final, with street watch parties, joyous screams from houses, and pleasant weather.

I was scraping over 30 traffic cameras in NYC last night to capture the celebrations around the city. Here are the highlights!! Some of the later clips are so cool, you can literally see the minute the Knicks win and the fans flood the streets 🏀🗽

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
Thank you to the thousands of City workers who kept New York running throughout the Knicks’ Finals run as well last night after yesterday’s celebrations. To the members of the NYPD, FDNY, EMS, DSNY, DOT, and every City worker who showed up, did their job, and helped keep New Yorkers safe: I cannot thank you enough. Whether you were responding to emergencies, staffing events, directing traffic, cleaning our streets, or working behind the scenes in ways most people never see, your dedication made this historic moment possible for millions of New Yorkers. By the time many of us woke up this morning, the city was ready for another day because of your work. I join millions of your fellow New Yorkers in saying thank you.

This is actually one of my favorite parts of Disclosure Day. It trusts the audience to piece together what the technology does, especially given that it’s only shown in the context of people who don’t fully understand it.
The Secret Sun Speaks@SecretSunBlog

Spoiler Alert: Disclosure Day isn't really about aliens or anything like that. It's about magical glow sticks that are never explained or exposited, but comprise the overwhelming bulk of the plot. They also do whatever Spielberg and Koepp need them to do whenever the plot runs aground.
