This sounds just like the Texas deep freeze in February 2021 and the failures of fossil power plants in Ercot. These allegedly "firm" resources (gas, coal) proved to not be there when we needed them during winter cold snaps. That's unacceptable & dangerous.

As reported by Duke Energy yesterday, the largest cause of the rolling blackouts on Christmas Eve was coal and natural gas plants generating far less than rated. Between those plant failures and loss of purchases from outside of territory, they lost 2,500 MW of generation.

My flight is overbooked and they lady offered $700 for anyone who volunteered to fly out tomorrow.
So I yelled “it’s a scam - legally they owe you $1500 or 4x your ticket whichever is lowest!”
So EVERYONE waited till she said $1500 to stand up. Why am I like this?😂
