So here’s the thing:
Forming a union allows workers to collectively bargain & achieve a legally binding contract.
It also protects us from disrespectful & outright wrong behavior from management.

We are also “At Will” employees, meaning any of us on staff can be fired - at any time - for non-discriminatory reasons, with no explanation, rights, or recourse.
We’ve seen it happen. Many times.

Currently, staff members - most of whom are women and people of color - do NOT have a formal seat at the table at RAICES when it comes to salary negotiations (or transparency), benefits or workplace policies.

And while putting our own well-being on the line for our work and the people we serve can be seen as noble & “part of the job”....@RAICESTEXAS is ultimately our workplace.
And as such, we deserve protections.
