We had @brianstolarz, Lawyer and Author of Grace and Justice on Death Row speak to our @HolmesMS_FCPS AVID classes today. “I want to inspire you to be a lawyer, or a doctor, or something to make a difference.” We can’t wait to see your documentary on @netflix!

We are so lucky to @PhilipW_GMU from @GeorgeMasonU University Career Services to talk about career exploration. Using people for inspiration and resources to help us get where we are going. Also focused on our strengths by sharing compliments and love to our fellow students!

Today in AVID, 8th grade students learned how to cook a basic meal! Mr. Smith showed the students how to make over easy eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches. These skills will definitely pay off when they are on their own in college (or this weekend cooking for their families! 😜)
