I lived in Tehran for professional reasons and had the opportunity to immerse myself in Persian culture. On a personal level, I engaged with people studying the effects of meditation and prayer on mental clarity. From that perspective, I’ve learned that a person’s character often reflects in how they express themselves. Having watched many of Mr. Marandi’s interviews, paying attention to his body language and tone, I see him as an honorable individual. That said, I also understand that not all Iranians share the same views — and that diversity of opinion should be respected.

I would like to say that I hold no contempt for those who openly express their personal or professional views. In the case of Mark Rutte, it is widely understood that his statements are guided by his own interests, and therefore it makes little sense to despise him. One may condemn his actions, but not the person. Contempt, after all, clouds judgment and prevents us from perceiving things as they truly are.

I can't find words strong enough to express the amount of contempt Europeans should feel for this guy 👇 I started writing a long explanation why, but I deleted it because at this stage it's just so painfully obvious. You guys know.
