@jackohawk Sure. But you get the feeling Phil wants to play it down so he can justify not supporting some areas. In reality they thought they were would be up $50m & they got an extra $20. That’s a good news story. Most rugby fans know RA continues to be struggling.

This is a huge indictment on New Zealand rugby and Super Rugby as a whole. It's inability to sustain teams should raise concerns over the future of the comp. MP was a great concept to support players from the islands, but it failed in its mission

This is really cool. Obviously it’s not going to blow rugby up overnight, but it’ll certainly do no harm. It’s important to have individual stars in the game whose names cross over into other markets. Love him or hate him, Pollock is the absolute perfect character for that.
