Sad to see the proposed demise of the Independent Investment Trust, via absorption into Monks - IIT has a famous history as a Keynes/Falk vehicle in the 1920s (as I recall), more recently in the capable hands of ex-SMT manager Max Ward.

Will Boris now be thinking in Churchillian terms - some years in the political wilderness, a self-serving memoir (loosely related to what actually happened, but a cracking read), more lucrative newspaper columns, followed by a triumphant return at the outbreak of World War Three?

Lots of bullish sentiment on commodities. This is a cyclical market so you need to have a clear disciplined policy on when you will sell. Easier said than done, be careful or else you will ride it all the way up and all the way down again.
