In Nigeria, a group of policemen will stop you on the road and claim to be conducting a stop-and-search without any valid reason. Such actions should only be taken when there is probable cause, such as traffic violation, matching the description of a suspect involved in a reported crime, overspeeding, drinking and driving, or a strong odor of marijuana. When you ask these officers the reason for the stop-and-search, they have no explanation. It is illegal to stop a vehicle without probable cause. Nigeria needs to stop recruiting uneducated and incompetent individuals into the Nigerian Police force.
