Today would have been my dad's 59th birthday. He passed away 31 years ago when I was just 5 years old, but I think about him every single day. I still feel his love from the Great Beyond.

I'm an only child so whenever a child calls me "Auntie Renee," I just melt on the inside.

I know all of this has to sting, but remember, it’s about meritocracy. Hang on in there.
