“Sorry for the slow reply” is a symptom of unrealistic demands in an always-on culture. If you didn’t commit to a response deadline, stop apologizing and drop the guilt—you’re not late. A healthier message is gratitude for reasonable expectations: “Thanks for your patience.”

Discussing all things empowerment with @MargaretBurnsid last week. A q which can feel a bit intrusive to me is "how did that make you feel". Margaret's perspective is that it can be a disempowering question. Something "made" us. How did you feel? Invites something different.

COVID-19 rates are still very high, and rising again Vaccines substantially reduce rates of severe disease and hospitalisation but there is some reduction of effect over time If you are over 75 or immunosuppressed and the NHS contacts you for a booster please take up the offer

So...it might just be that most people are waiting until the day before the deadline to apply, but currently we have fewer applicants to the LingComm Grants than we have actual grants to give out I'm just saying, your odds of getting funded are currently extremely good

What’s the worst career advice you’ve ever been given? Mine was “Don’t leave a job without another one to go to”. Kept me trapped and miserable for far longer than necessary until I went against it out of desperation and realised it was nonsense. #ShitCareerAdvice

I’m looking for any studies that have been done on how 4 day work weeks work outside of knowledge workers. Can anyone in the #HRCommunity kindly help me out?
