@Nullsci1 Your last study is saying that female pornography performers are almost 3x as likely to have depression, 3x as likely to be rape victims, almost 2x as likely to be in poverty and 6x as likely to be DV victims. How is that supposed to be good??

For this to be true, pornography would have to have strong predictive validity at the national level. It does not. There is no connection, let alone a causal one. Holds true in Europe, Asia, and America. Even India! link.springer.com/article/10.100… journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…

Ban it. Ban the production, arrest the producers, free the victims via a Nordic Model. Watch our violent rape statistics go down. 'Pornography is the theory, rape is the practice' - Robin Morgan, 1980.

@BradfemlyWalsh You're right, feminism is actually about lying about your own fears of bathrooms and stirring up moral panics

most women are not feminist at all and are actually very anti feminist. the most common type of "feminism" you come across is someone wishing for a benevolent patriarchy or for their individual lives to get better. it's never about the liberation of all women.

@SavageRoll @RndmStreetMedic I agree, no one should live in the rural US. But lots of people love it for some reason

Prior to med school, I lived in a town where there's a single low-quality grocery store, but an ample supply of convenience stores, dollar stores, and fast food. The next closest grocery store was the Walmart 1 town over. That, by definition, is a food desert.

@SavageRoll @RndmStreetMedic Well of course there's not public transportation in rural areas, most of them don't even want it. But that's not stopping them from using an hour to go to a different store

@leastfixedpoint @RndmStreetMedic some of them dont have the option to. there is no public transportation in rural areas and sometimes the closest cheaper store is half an hour away, making your travel time an hour. food deserts always target the poor and disadvantaged

Newly released video footage from the splashdown of NASA’s Artemis ll in the Eastern Pacific on Friday, April 10, 2026, shows the moment that U.S. Navy Divers cracked the door open and entered the Orion to greet the Astronauts, welcoming them back to Earth after their journey around the Moon.

@xwanyex Because you don't stop anyone else from owning a snowmobile when you buy a snowmobile!

We do the same for people who own snowmobiles. I don’t own a snowmobile. But I think the state should stop people from stealing snowmobiles. I don’t really need snowmobile owners to pay a special tax for this so-called privilege. It’s fine, really. It’s just basic law and order that we all benefit from from. I don’t want to live in a society with snowmobile thieves. I want to live in a society in which snowmobile thieves are punished. I don’t need to be the owner of a snowmobile for any of this to be true, to benefit from this arrangement.

Land value tax defenders argue that land owners get a special benefit in the form of the protection of their private property that they should therefore pay for. This is confused, or at least overstated, for two important reasons. First is that you’re not actually allowed to steal any kind of private property. What makes housing unique is that it’s huge, conspicuous, typically immobile, and ownership is dutifully recorded. All these things make investigating assaults on this particular form of private property dramatically easier than all others. If you tell the police that somebody took your bicycle, then it’s like, I don’t know man, how can we even know where the bike is? If we think we know, then we’ve got to go track it down. How can we even really be sure that the bike is yours? If a group of marauders tries to take over your land, then the police have a very straightforward task ahead of them. Second, it’s not as though the benefits of stopping these marauders redound only to the homeowner. The neighbors also do not want marauders occupying the house that used to be owned by their neighbor, whether those neighbors are homeowners or renters. Nobody benefits from marauders taking over private property. The fact that we stop this is not a special benefit we give to homeowners as a privileged class. It’s just basic public order, which benefits everybody in the society.
