@kyros_xn @BraxtonJs Pixar has the ability to make a movie that has a story kids can relate to, as well as adults. Mario Galaxy does the same without needing that deep story. I guess I was echoing the 6/10 statement because that's what critics are saying, but I don't agree tbh.

@lemodanimator @BraxtonJs Braindead slop might have been harsh, but I get what your saying. My point lies in this "for us it's a 6/10, but for kids, it's a 10/10." Look at the incredibles. That was a movie that kids thought was a ten out of ten, and so did critics. The same for Toy Story 3

Illumination is such an annoying entity because they have a great work environment and don’t like AI, but they’ve also never made anything higher than a 6/10, and with their current business model, I don’t think they ever will

@kyros_xn @BraxtonJs I don't want brain dead slop. And i never said it was a bad movie. 6/10 is the critic's opinion not mine. It's harshly judged because they don't see how it's not a movie made for them. However the movie doesn't have a deep story so that's their argument I guess.

@lemodanimator @BraxtonJs Jesus dude. This argument is so tired, just because a movie is made for kids doesn't mean it has to be brain-dead slop. Look at Pixar, they made it their legacy to make "movies for all ages." 20 years ago, my family would enjoy the IPs I watched as a kid.

@Thenightstarise Technically the last time we have seen Peach Castle in a mainline Mario game was odyssey all the way back in 2017, so I wonder how it will look in the next game. Also I've mentioned this before but I desperately want a new game in the galaxy flavor. I miss space.

Something I really hope Nintendo DOES do in the games going forward is incorporate design elements from the set pieces because these places have GENUINELY never looked better! They cooked with that for SURE!

@lemodanimator Maybe so! What if we got a Rosalina spin-off? We already had the Peach one with Princess Peach: Showtime, and I’d also easily take a Captain Toad 2 for this year.

O que realmente me preocupa é: se esse Star Fox for anunciado agora em abril, qual vai ser o grande jogo da Direct de junho? Talvez seja o Ocarina of Time Remake, mas acho que ainda precisa de mais um peso pesado. Como o novo Mario 3D infelizmente não vai sair esse ano, igual estão falando por aí, eu não faço a menor ideia do que viria para ser o grande destaque. *Mas eu ainda acho que teremos algo de Mario esse ano. Não sei o que, nem se será um jogo 3D, mas para aproveitar o hype do filme acho que vem algo por aí; talvez um Mario Maker ou até Luigi's Mansion (apesar de eu não achar que esse seja lançado já este ano.)*

@Mistercochon18 The wild robot has adult themes and complex characters. So it's a 10/10 adult movies and a 10/10 kids movie, so yeah in a way i guess it is 20/10.

@AnalysisAizakku @XenomorphBurner @BraxtonJs I also went early and it was mostly kids, and some adult nerds and one group of college student, but the kids especially loved it.

@XenomorphBurner @lemodanimator @BraxtonJs Honestly, that's surprising because I unfortunately picked an early time and was stuck in a cinema full of children around that age. All of them were screaming and shouting when anything happened. They absolutely loved it.

@BraxtonJs Illumination mostly doesn't see kids like Pixar does. They don't prioritize deep stories, profound themes and complex characters. It's more about making it colorful and loud.

@AhronaStudio @BraxtonJs I agree. Another thing is that long time Nintendo fans have a much different expectation for movies than a kid would. At least in illumination's eyes. They don't see kids as deeply invested as adults I guess.

@lemodanimator @BraxtonJs I feel like this doesn't work as well with the Mario movies. They're stuffed to the brim with references, even some really obscure, so clearly they are meant for not only kids but also longtime Nintendo fans.

@FunnyName68 @BraxtonJs They achieve that feat. Of making a movie that kids connect and cherish so deeply, yet the adults connect with it just as much if not more. Illumination doesn't prioritize making a movie like that all the time.

@lemodanimator @BraxtonJs Pixar movies are also made for kids yet they manage to be amazing movies that people of any age can enjoy I mean look at WALL-E and The Incredibles

@BraxtonJs A movie like SING/SING 2 has more deeper and real adult moments and it takes itself a bit more seriously. in contrast to despicable me franchise, has emotional spots, but it also fails sometimes to make it's story impactful because it's so whimsy and overly fast-paced at times.

@BraxtonJs The only reason we look at it as a 6/10 is because they are not made for adults. They are not even really made for teens/young adults either. They are a kids movie studio. That's what they do best. for us it's a 6/10, but for kids, it's a 10/10.
