@ThatGarthGuy it's actually outrageous that the BBC were reporting the scottish council elections by overall control when it's nearly impossible to win a majority because of STV

With how fractured our political system is now becoming in the UK, I think we should move past the need to use "Control/NOC" when it comes to councils We should probably show councils by the largest party on the council itself, instead of if they have a majority or not

Seeing the @scottishgreens making such breakthroughs in the constituency vote leaves me frustrated that they're only standing in 6/73 constituencies. How was Reform able to find candidates and the greens weren't?

The new Scottish Parliament depicted by the Find Out Now poll commissioned by James Kelly for Scot Goes Pop would contain almost an embarrassment of riches for the pro-independence camp 👇 #Echobox=1776928041-2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">thenational.scot/news/26045366.…

@Locked100plus1 It's basically a three way tie. The model says Labour edge it (by less than a percent!) but I personally think the greens might win just because of the number of signs I've seen for them. It's definitely an exciting contest regardless.

@wallacedadmsk05 Just checked the model, the greens are there but the map only lists the top 4 parties in each seat, and they're 0.1% behind labour.

@libdembounce It really would have to be the Skye seat and *maybe* Argyll. I don’t see a world where they gain any seat south of the Central Belt that’s not a list seat, nor do I see them gaining Western Isles.

@OnByStarlight I think there's a good chance we still gain a couple more seats on the west coast because of the ferry scandal. Harder for a model to take that into account but let's see... 🤞

@juniperebba If anything the Lib Dems are underestimated here I feel like we're definitely winning more than 5 constituencies

@libdembounce Because there are actual crimes to deal with, first time possession doesn't even get you fined it just gets taken. You need dealing amounts to get booked

@cezthesocialist @57_joe_ Other genocides didn't transport their victims from ghettos to extermination camps via trains and kill millions in purpose built extermination camps. The industrialisation of genocide is a unique tragedy specific to the holocaust. Saying that doesn't downplay other genocides.

Scale? So you think a genocide that killed 1 million people and completely wiped out an entire race is less evil than one that killed 2 million but wasn’t complete despite having completely identical goals? I don’t think there is any difference between these two things, they are both equally evil. And I don’t see how emphasising one is anything but downplaying the other.

@cezthesocialist @57_joe_ I mean the holocaust was a uniquely evil event though. It's the only time that a genocide has been committed on that industrial scale through the use of extermination camps. That doesn't minimise other genocides, but it is important to distinguish how evil the holocaust was.

You are wrong and clearly very ignorant. The term holocaust was used to describe several genocides long before the Nazis. Zionists invented the propaganda term “the Holocaust”, note the capitalisation, in the 60s to describe the Nazi holocaust, which pushes the idea that it was a uniquely evil event, thereby downplaying other genocides, and denies the millions of non-Jewish victims. They need people to believe these things to justify Israel’s existence. It is not antisemitic to be educated and refuse to take part in Zionist propaganda. The Nazi holocaust was a horrific genocide, but it was not uniquely evil, and it certainly does not justify the Zionist colonial project or their genocide.

What’s with Scottish LDM’s being decently neutral on Indy (or at least having pro-Indy people) and Welsh LDM’s being hyper unionists?
