In 1956, Israel partnered with Britain & France to invade & occupy Egypt. It became known as the Tripartite Aggression or the Suez Crisis.
In Oct. 1956, in preparation for the war of aggression, Ben-Gurion presented his post-war vision to his co-belligerents, which included a complete re-drawing of the map, with Lebanon effectively disintegrating, with Lebanon's south annexed to Israel.
As one historian described it: "Lebanon would divest itself of some of its heavily Muslim eastern & southern provinces and reconstitute itself as an overwhelmingly Christian republic, aligned with Israel, while Israel would annex southern Lebanon up to the Litani River."
You read that correctly: During's Israel's war of aggression on Egypt in 1956, it sought to occupy Lebanese territory south of the Litani River in a post-war settlement.

Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba
I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film
As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes
It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions.
But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

BREAKING: The Israeli Air Force cannot even correctly identify what it is targeting and destroying. What the Israeli Air Force destroyed at Sanandaj Airport was a Bell 214A Isfahan utility helicopter belonging to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, not an Mi-17.
Even if it had been an Mi-17, it would still have belonged to the Red Crescent Society. There is no military base at Sanandaj Airport.
The Israeli Air Force is striking whatever it can and labeling it as an IRGC or military asset to justify its actions.
This Bell 214A was in use to provide emergency medical services for Kurdistan Province and had been deployed from its home base at Qazvin Airport to Sanandaj a couple of months ago, replacing an Alouette III of the Iranian Helicopter Services Company that had previously been based there to carry out aerial medical services for the province.
This footage show the same helicopter almost eight years ago.
