This African madness about foreign football teams (especially from colonial brutes) while not being mad against police brutality, abuse of power, exploitation and grinding poverty, is one of the main reasons why liberating Africa has been difficult. To be liberated, Africans must liberate their MINDS and the illusions, fantasies and myths from and about the UK, Europe and America—and everything these imperialist regimes represent. Don’t bore me about “it’s sports” or “religion.” I call it MENTAL COLONIZATION! Now, go ahead and have a breakdown on @X!

Tanzania has nearly the same amount of resource endowment as DR Congo. The reason people don't know this is that unlike DR Congo, Tanzania has always had a functioning government that has been able to keep the resources in the ground instead of letting the country become Kivu. Tanzanians themselves know very little about their own country, which is why you'll see some corn-fed idiot from Kariakoo who has never travelled beyond a 400km radius in his life telling you that his primary problem in life is that he doesn't have "Democracy." People that are living inside an African ring of fire and still don't know where their problem is coming from or who their enemy is...

It was a western funded coup. Tanzania has one of the largest critical mineral deposit in the world and has zero super power favorite,so do the math.

Judging from my mentions, it looks like 75% of Tweeps were not around circa 2011 when Dennis Itumbi was ruling these streets with exposes from ICC and the Hague.

@WillieOeba I understand your argument. But mahn the in between details za life hukua very complex. I've learnt to not be too judgemental on people's choice of survival. The human core is built upon instinct to survive and that sometimes is greater than logic.

Twitter A was such a menace back in the day. Twitter felt like a LinkedIn of bourgeoisies of society. Even speaking in sheng’ here felt like a sacrilege.

May we live to see an Africa where African presidents respect themselves by refusing invitations from nations that continue to belittle Africa. If the European Union wants to address Africa then fine. But a single European nation calling a meeting of a whole continent.

Do you even know how many such summits have been held in different African capitals since the 1960s? We are in 2026 and you are measuring diplomatic power by hotel beds. That is not geopolitics. That is concierge thinking!
Kennedy Wandera@KennedyWandera_

I think #Nairobi is exactly what it says it is; one of the world’s great diplomatic capitals. Not every African city can host a summit of this magnitude without a single head of state sleeping in a neighbouring country. It is not always about nice speeches and red carpets. Meetings of this nature come with enormous diplomatic, logistical and security complexities. It is always about secure state movement, intelligence coordination, airspace management, accommodation capacity, transport systems, the highest standards of diplomatic protocol, emergency response and ensuring an entire city continues to function while the world’s most protected and influential leaders are in town. With heads of state, global financiers, diplomats, policymakers and development partners gathered in Nairobi, the Africa Forward Summit 2026 was going to be a big, big test for #Kenya. I think it delivered. Credit where credit's due. Cheers to Kenyan tea.🫖☕️

Personally i want to see more continental gatherings. Yes our leaders gathering together for a shared agenda. More civil society, private sector, gathering on a continental level for a shared agenda so we transcend borders and build that panafrican unity. But we don't need a western country to organize it lmao
