Why impeachment/removal processes were entrenched in the Constitution: 1. To act as a constitutional safeguard and check and balance device against abuse of office by State Officers. 2. Serves to obligate State Officers to exercise their functions within the confines of the Constitution. 3. Acts as an oversight tool for Legislature to hold State Officers accountable for their actions. 4. Serves to keep State Officers answerable on the manner of discharge of their functions. 5. Underscores that Separation of Powers is to be conceptualized within the dictates of the Constitution and any excesses are to be stopped through impeachment processes. 6. Serves as an indirect way through which the people of Kenya holds the State Officers accountable through their elected representatives. 7. Ring fences the principle that no institution is above the law and power is to be exercised in a manner that promotes national values and principles of governance. 8. Recognizes that human beings are not infallible and through removal processes you can entrench restraint. Affirms as true the common saying that "the true nature of man left to himself without restrain is not nobility but savagery".

The impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua is good for Kenya and bad for President William Ruto. It has set a low threshold for removal of leaders including himself, from office, and effectively denied him the overwhelming support of Kikuyus who voted for him to the last woman seated.

How can I waste my precious whole day discussing about Rigathi yet we have serious issues like Adani,New University funding model,SHIF,High cost of living,High taxation,unemployment among others.You'll see me in parliament when these issues are presented but they will not bring them.I was highly engaged with other important and urgent matters affecting my constituents.The speed with which Rigathi was impeached should be the same speed used to solve Kenyans challenges.
