@CRitsem @ChiPubSchools I can’t speak for alll but it should be. It is in one of my emails but I will look for the location of the policy. Your child should not lose their spot. I have 2 coming back on Tuesday. That will act as their first day.

@CRitsem @ChiPubSchools Policy is: students who do not arrive on day 1 they are marked absen. CPS later marks them DNA (did not arrive). They are NOT continued to be marked absent. Upon return, the school simply pulls them back in to re-enroll. This has been the policy for as long as I can remember.

A sad day for the Berckemeyer Family - my amazing and almost 99 year old Dad passed away today. I knew I was loved and he was proud of me.

Follow up - preferred equity image. It gets closer to explaining needs, access, resources, & opportunity based on how ppl are situated. It’s helps us re-image supports for diverse learners, [somewhat] visually decentralizes race, & recognizes each person’s potential.
