Public consumption laws, lingering federal illegality, workplace concerns, and simple social caution keep it rare in everyday settings like grocery stores. Outside the West Coast bubble, you’ll see far fewer of these encounters. In the South, Midwest, or conservative-leaning areas, weed might be more privately used but public handoffs still raise eyebrows or legal risks. The phenomenon reflects growing acceptance, not universal behavior. Three eager shoppers make for a funny anecdote, but they don’t prove it’s happening on every aisle. Weed’s mainstream, yet random joint diplomacy is niche, not the new normal.
