@michalmalewicz Not everything is 'bad' though – I think we're in a calm before the storm moment. All the designers being laid off recently + all the new technology will probably bloom into a new era of design founders.

@michalmalewicz That's a very complicated question. There's multiple issues in design that contribute to lesser quality and "tool erosion" is only one of them.

You'd think with all those super optimised workflows and tools that speed the design process significantly we'd have better design on average? Well it's the exact opposite, the quality is actually decreasing. Care to guess why?

@michalmalewicz I think product complexity has been steadily rising (increasing the workload), while tools have been simplified (psh > sketch > figma) – we've lost a lot along the way. Another big piece is lots of designers working at large companies, designing buttons instead of experiences.
