Obi has a serious name recognition issue in the SW. I know people like to say Yorubas voted for Obi but I add a caveat “Cosmopolitan Yorubas” voted him. He got 3.7% votes in Ekiti, 3.1% votes in Osun, 9.7% in Ondo, 11.93% in Oyo, 16% in Ogun and 45.81% in Lagos. In total, he got 21%, Atiku did better with about 23%. Lagos is an outlier and this is because Non-Yorubas account for about 35%-45% of the voting population in Lagos. If we discount this, Obi actually performed poorly in the SW. We don’t know if Atiku’s performance was due to name recognition or Party Structure. Whatever the case, Obi has a lot of work to do and I see why Atiku supporters keep saying that Atiku will do better than Obi in the SW. I however believe that BAT will get 65%-75% of the votes in the Saw irrespective of who is up against. 2026 may turnout to be like 1999. But make we dey observe

Nigeria 🇳🇬 is of key security interest to us. if Nigeria does well Ghana 🇬🇭 does well. When you have cousins 250 million of them, you want them to do well so that 1 million of them don’t come drifting towards a small country like Ghana. So everyday I wake up I pray to God that Nigeria get their act together. ~ Ghana President John Dramani says
