Something worth noting here is that ADHD generally involves dysregulation of your brain’s motivation/reward circuits such that *even if you really care about doing something on time* your brain often won’t release the right chemicals to help make it happen!

If I told you that you had to be somewhere at 7am to collect a cheque for a £1 million and if you were even 1 minute late you wouldn’t get it, you’d be there, in fact you’d probably get there early. You just don’t respect other people’s time enough which is a character flaw.

Like, you can rationally think through the consequences of being late to an appointment or a party or not finishing something on time, but it’s like you’re mashing the “hey, this is bad, do something about it!” button and your brain refuses to respond until the last minute.
