@DeveloperSlime @LarryBundyJr Zelda-like game have different structure from Metroidvania. Former has central hub/openworld with routes to dungeons, while latter should have a interconnected world, where parts have less of specific designation.

@LarryBundyJr The 3D Zelda games feel like the closest to me, like OoT, MM, windwaker, etc. All seem like they check a lot of boxes i imagine a 3D metroidvania should check, except for things EXP and loot drops of course.

Have there ever been any true 3D MetroidVania's ever made? They nearly all seem to be 2D focused. Closest I can think of are Batman: Arkham Asylum, and the 2013 Tomb Raider, Maybe Jedi: Fallen Order, and even then they're very light/hand holdey on the "Metroiding" aspect.

@Suvitruf Лучший рилтайм-с-паузой был в UFO серии в начале 00х. С составлением цепочек команд и автопаузой в ключевых точках или при изменении ситуации. А БГшное - это костыль "мы перенесли пошаговую логику с ходами и очередностью инициативы в рилтайм, но без паузы в это невозможно играть"

В Pillars of Eternity завезли пошаговый режим, и... Я не понимаю, зачем это после 10 лет с релиза.

And I think it is reasonable to not extend the benefit of doubt to devs without track record unless they disclose LLM usage in details.

They might be an experienced dev which used LLM for assistance, but also might be a shitty vibecoder which believes ai can do anything. And until proven otherwise, I will assume latter.
