Everyone is talking about AI's energy footprint.
Fewer people are talking about AI's verification potential.
AI is uniquely capable of doing something human auditors cannot: continuously monitoring environmental conditions at scale, in real time, with no fatigue, no corruption, and no conflict of interest.
A drone surveys a plantation. AI analyses canopy coverage, health scores, growth rates. The output is a verified data payload that no human could produce as quickly, consistently, or cheaply.
The same technology that is consuming energy at scale is also what makes environmental verification possible at scale.
The question isn't whether to use AI. It's what to use it for.

Meta just committed $1 billion to a data center in Tulsa, including a 10-year water restoration project targeting 50 million gallons saved per year.
The goal: be water positive by 2030. Restore more water than consumed.
Admirable commitment. One question worth asking: how do you verify it?
How does Meta prove, independently and transparently, that the restoration actually happened at the scale claimed?
This is the verification gap that exists across every corporate water pledge right now.
Onchain Proof-of-Impact doesn't replace the commitment. It makes the commitment provable.
