@CasandChary @BenGeskin So you could say I’m happy there’s the possibility but I’m kinda disappointed that it’s not something officially supported. There were lots of cool mods for the Index but most of them died in relative obscurity. People only really cared about crappy fans.

@CasandChary @BenGeskin Wait, I am 100% sure a motivated individual can replace the cameras or add new ones and modify the software to use them. But I am also sure that unless it’s officially supported, there won’t be significant spatial software in the Steam store.

I think this part in the video looks a bit misleading. Steam Frame doesn’t have a color mixed reality mode. The headset only has monochrome cameras for tracking.

@CasandChary @BenGeskin I don’t think it’s the matter of challenging anyone to deliver those. It’s technically possible since it was already announced as such. The problem is it’s likely not going to be supported by the core OS and the first party software, which means third party vendors won’t care.
