The fact we are going to have our first trillionaire before everyone has access to clean drinking water is proof our current system is not for the greater good but for the greedy.

Not 4x, it went from 15t Jan 2020 to 19t Dec 2020. But i agree, printing all this money was bad. Extended shutdowns, esp at the California ports, hobbled supply. Biden also restricted production here at home, which we were supposed to take advantage of after opec limited production... Thing is, inflation was nice and stable till several months after Biden came in.

Combine that with his OPEC deal that throttled oil production through April 2022, which also drives up costs across the board as everything opened back up post COVID, you get inflation. And we fared better than most

@Sakerift I'm not sure how much they get paid so i cant speak to it, but most companies spend more on payroll than the profit margin.

@patternote The point is that they shouldn't have to go to hotels under their employer for those benefits. But like idk I feel like the people running the industry deserve a fair share of the profits.

The idea of a service worker providing a service at a restaurant or hotel and them not being able to afford the service themselves is silly to me. Like if you work at a hotel for a year but can't afford a months stay at a similarly priced hotel that's kinda weird to me.

The thing is if you do legislate £15/hr, companies will just pass the cost on to higher prices. And higher prices leads to inflation. And inflation leads to demands for higher min wage. The circle continues until the far right get power and cut everything. Like Javier Milei.

Its sad to see so many of those on the left champion £15/hr minimum wage. Here's a better idea. Government offer everyone a job at £15/hr. - More money in the economy, - Companies must pay more to retain their staff , else they leave. - No risk of unemployment. And why not?

Every billionaire today either received massive startup capital from family or was born into wealth. None of them would be homeless right now. Only workers have that risk

And the rich owner might take some loss but can just get a bailout or a tax break. The worker risks literal homelessness. Be real

Yet you enjoyed the comfort of always having 50-60 hours readily available. No need to find clients, do marketing, pay administrative costs, and being stable enough to pay everyone even when things aren't going great. You're obviously not lazy, but they haven't exactly gotten "rich off your labor", you went to work for the best offer your skills could fetch, and I'm sure the overtime pay was nice

I’ve worked 50-60 hours a week for the last 20 years in order to support my family, while my employers have gotten rich off my labor. Yet I’m lazy and entitled and my bosses are entrepreneurial and hardworking.

Keep in mind that the Democrats actually have a published plan to overload and collapse the welfare system called The Weight of the Poor, written in 1966 by a couple of university professors. In all this time, they failed to get enough people on welfare, so Biden's people decided to just flood the country with parasites and put THEM on all the welfare and benefits too! The reason? So we can have Communism! You know, that thing that's "never been tried", but actually just doesn't exist. It turns into tens of millions of people dead from starvation, until Fascism makes the starving stop! These people are the Fascism they excuse others of! Pure projection!
