Spoke to a teacher from New York. Makes $140,000/yr with a 10 month schedule. Retires in 2026 with ~ $90,000/yr pension + full health benefits. Traditional careers like this can be game changers. Why aren’t more people doing this?!

College sports was prob better in 2010 but it was due to a model that unequivocally ripped off athletes. Then on top of that, people who brag about how "colleges were making hand over fist while the players got nothing!!!" are thinking of power schools. MOST D1 colleges--your "mid major" "G5" schools--were not and are not balling out like that yet forced into the same arms race now
