After my Eid prayers, I had to rush to town and flag off the third team heading to Fort Portal for the International Day of Forests celebrations. Yesterday was good in Hoima and Rukunjiri. We planted 750 trees all together. All as events leading us to the D-day. Tomorrow it's going to be even better. And we already have a team of over five travel specialists waiting on the other end. The Uganda Consulate in Arusha hosted us for an amazing lunch following our strategic marketing and Uganda branding meeting. Great conversations, shared vision, and a strong commitment to positioning Uganda as a top tourism destination.

This morning, we met Magile Matayo and kicked off our discussion right in the car as we headed to the Uganda Consulate. Magile, a third-year university student, is the head of UTALI HUB a premium tourism innovation hub focused on empowering young people to promote tourism across Tanzania. With a network of over 273 young people actively engaged in tourism promotion, UTALI HUB is playing a vital role in shaping the future of destination marketing in the region. As we speak, I often share a key insight from Mr. Matayo that Tanzania is heavily investing in safari drives, while Uganda offers incredibly rich and immersive experiences that tourists need to actively engage in. We also discussed how governments are willing to invest and support initiatives that demonstrate real impact. Our focus is on how we can add value, align with ongoing efforts, and position ourselves to tap into and benefit from government support in Tanzania. As travel specialists in destination marketing, we look forward to building stronger partnerships that will expand opportunities and increase the number of international visitors to East Africa.

Following the official update from the #ADCCE2026 African Board and Organizing Committee, please note that the @adcceexpo has been rescheduled. Due to ongoing global airspace disruptions affecting international travel for many of our delegates, the event will no longer take place this month as previously communicated. To ensure we maintain the full international value and participation envisioned for this gathering, the new dates are set for October 12th – 13th, 2026, at @spekeresort. We want to reassure all our esteemed members, delegates, exhibitors and sponsors that all existing tickets and packages remain fully valid for the new dates. This adjustment was made with the goal of delivering an even more impactful and inclusive event for the tourism community. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and understanding during this time and look forward to welcoming you all this October.
