Jasmine Crockett has shown me, as a woman in politics, to be strong and always stand on business in the face of adversity. Today sucks. It’s like watching your heroes fight. 💔

@maddenifico Many women who voted for Republicans thought abortion only impacted women who they thought were irresponsible & callous. They see their own cases as legitimate & emergencies. I’m glad she’s speaking about it now but it’s a shame that some need direct impact to see the problem.

@patgagnon_75 Celebrity, a 2 party system, white American evangelicalism (culture wars), racism/sexism/xenophobia, deindustrialization helping turn some states older and more conservative, the strength of conservative media, and the electoral college. A popular vote would be less close.

So, as a Canadian, I decided to watch the 2024 presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Can anyone explain to me how this is supposedly a close race. Seriously, how is this possible.

Fast food was disappointing. I was so excited to try American fast food after watching tons of YouTube reviews. But man, In-N-Out was such a letdown. The fries tasted like cardboard, and the whole experience was just meh. I give it a 2/10.

@Needle_of_Arya I mentioned to a friend that there is an undertone of implying that they thought Harris was incompetent or dumb, forgetting that her winning statewide office as AG and Senator was no small feat.

This is true for FDR, Richard Nixon, Joe Biden and Barack Obama. And you can analyze these failed contests and put them in the context of later electoral success without ever starting out with, "I was never a fan of that politician during their failed run..."

A ton of politicians of both parties in both living human memory & history have made faithful mistakes in an earlier race for office that they ultimately didn't get, and learned enough from the experience that they were later successful.

@Needle_of_Arya Nancy & Kamala go way back to S.F politics. Nancy was Queen Shit & Kamala was an upcoming star. Kamala didn't ask or need Nancy to mentor her, probably didn't take unsolicited advice & Nancy's ego took a hit. They've never been friends, but have worked together when necessary.

@KorlyNBP @Bayou_cutie10 @whoistrey There were decades of precedent for many things that the judges he appointed have overlooked or over turned so while they probably won’t be able to do everything outlined in project 2025, he will be able to do more of it than when there were stronger checks & balances.

@KorlyNBP @Bayou_cutie10 @whoistrey The Supreme Court weakened the power of agencies and basically the administrative system. The project 2025 people are prepared to act at the beginning of his term unlike last time when several people in his admin pushed back against some of his actions.

I’m not Olivia Pope but if I was…the first thing I’d tell Kamala Harris is that she needs to pick the WHITEST, STRAIGHTEST, Protestant Christian man with a WIFE and 2-3 KIDS, about 48 to 50-ish years old and make HIM her running mate! Extra points if he’s a veteran.

@Jewels_ATX This assumes Biden would win. Nothing I have been hearing from Democratic and independent voters over the last year made that seem likely. People have been demoralized about this retread of 2020. He should have learned from RBG and not run for re-election from the start.

Remarkable leadership shown by Joe Biden. Now it falls to the DNC to show equal leadership by having an open process to determine the best candidate(s) to take on Trump - Vance in November. The goal should be simple - to win.
