On today's and yesterday's @BBCr4today programme, it was erroneously suggested that car companies, like Tesla, receive Government subsidies via the ZEV Mandate
This is completely false
Not a penny of taxpayer money is given to car manufacturers via the Mandate

Service station operators do need to raise their game. They have a captive audience mentality and have long ago fallen behind acceptable retail hospitality standards. They need to put the consumer first.

Charnock Richards has to be one of the worst service stations in the country!! How, in this day and age is this acceptable? Dirty tables, disgusting doors, bad maintenance and generally grim everywhere! 🤬

Actually, under zonal pricing the whole country should see lower bills.
The major saving is in the “back end” of electricity - the many billions we pay to balance the system. These benefits swamp the regional variations in wholesale,

So, the Government made some announcements today about the ZEV Mandate (EV sales targets that manufacturers have to hit)
In other words, they're weakening it - and the changes aren't necessarily that great for industry, economic growth, or drivers
