๐จ WATCH: Nigel Farage says the Government shouldn't ban Kanye West from coming to the UK
"If we start banning people from entering the country because we don't like what they say, I worry where that ends up... it's a dangerous path to go down"
๐จ BREAKING: Wireless Festival will keep Kanye West as its headliner
Melvin Benn, the Managing Director of Festival Republic, said:
"I am a deeply committed anti-fascist and have been all my adult life. I lived on a kibbutz for many months in the 1970โs that was attacked on October 7th, am pro Jew and the Jewish state, while being equally committed to a Palestinian state.ย
"Having had a person in my life for the last 15 years who suffers from mental illness, I have witnessed many episodes of despicable behaviour that I have had to forgive and move on from. If I wasnโt before, I have become a person of forgiveness and hope in all aspects of my life, including work.
"What Ye has said in the past about Jews and Hitler is as abhorrent to me as it is to the Jewish community, the Prime Minister and others that have commented and - taking him at his word - to Ye now also.ย
"Yeโs music is played on commercial radio stations in this country. It is available via live streams and downloads in this country without comment or vitriol from anyone and he has a legal right to come into the country and to perform in this country. He is intended to come in and perform. We are not giving him a platform to extol opinion of whatever nature, only to perform the songs that are currently played on the radio stations in our country and the streaming platforms in our country and listened to and enjoyed by millions.ย
"Forgiveness and giving people a second chance are becoming a lost virtue in this ever-increasing divisive world and I would ask people to reflect on their instant comments of disgust at the likelihood of him performing (as was mine) and offer some forgiveness and hope to him as I have decided to do"
TRUMP ON NATO: I THOUGHT UK WOULD BE FIRST TO HELP. THEY SAID NO, WEโD RATHER WAIT UNTIL YOU WIN. THEY HAVE TWO OLD AIRCRAFT CARRIERS THAT DONโT WORK. IโM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN NATO. ITโS A MARK THATโLL NEVER DISAPPEAR.
Technically we have one thatโs operationally readyโฆ
Iโm sorry, I used to think the โconspiracy theoristsโ were just nutters. This week Iโve decided we were conned. Hear me out. That 1969 spacecraft I watched on my black and white TV had less computing power than your wristwatch, less than some thermostatic controllers I have on my walls. This week NASA sent a $93billion spacecraft to *orbit* the moon, just orbit, in preparation for an actual moon landing in a few years time.
Why on earth would it take us 57 years, and a $93b test flight, with the compute power and comms facilities we have today, if weโd already done it successfully, once before, with so little, 57 years ago.
Nah, Iโm now with the conspiracy theorists.
๐จ WATCH: Donald Trump appears to compare Keir Starmer to Neville Chamberlain
"The UK has a long way to go. We don't want another Neville Chamberlain"
Just got a word with President Trump at the White Houseโฆ he said heโs not heard from Keir Starmer over the weekend. โWe donโt want another Neville Chamberlainโ
I asked if he thought the UK could be resurrected like Jesus Christโฆ
His answer coming shortly @GBNEWS
@rantymcmoanface@WhatNowDoc โNo one diedโ letโs just ignore the two astronauts who died in the cockpit by fire two days after saying the spacecraft would never make it to the moon lol
@AnthonyW182 Not worried. The polls ask a magical question: Would you like to join EU?
The non-magical question would be: Do you want to start a multi-year application negotiation, with all the economic uncertainty, and risk a very likely veto at the end?
