@BritishAFC Sad that has happened, you could always rename yourselves Heathrow FC and use the geographical location, maybe even keeping an aeroplane on your club badge.

🚨Breaking news 🚨 We have to announce that this will be the last season under the British airways fc name, due to the company pulling away at the end of the 23/24 season We have now been told the use of the name has to stop by end of this season. A huge history now at its end.

@dannykellywords Europe has been shafted in terms of allocations, in 1986 and 1990 14 of 24 teams were UEFA. Now the WC has doubled to 48 countries but European places have increased by just 2.

Still bewildered by Italy. I grew up among (N London) Italians: love their food, culture, raw vivacity. And to me Italian football IS football. What the hell has happened that they can't qualify for a 46-team World Cup? It will not be the same without them... #welldoneB&H #viva

@rebekkarnold Also, if Frank was still being paid (is he?) and after Tudor he was asked to resume his role and said no, any severance would stop. Football sackings are not like gross misconduct dismissals as in a normal job, they are simply early terminations of pre-agreed contracts.

Things change in football so fast, just seems like a vulnerable commitment to be in giving a half a decade contract with no relegation clause.

The thing I don’t get the most about the five year appointment at Spurs is that surely there was a prime opportunity to get back Poch after the World Cup? Albeit they would’ve had to stay up, but surely you would just hold back in case the opportunity arises.

@rebekkarnold There's a lot of entanglement with UK employment law in these contracts, including severance pay, how much is paid and whether in one go or in instalments; if instalments and you take another job these payments cease etc.

@rebekkarnold An Arsenal fan told me he wasn't interested in the "little cups" as they need to be winning more! Last season, Spurs, Newcastle and Palace all won "little cups" and treasured them, unfortunately it wasn't a springboard to build from, but still good.

I hope this Jewish ambulance thing doesn’t catch on and we suddenly start to see Protestant attacks on Catholic fire engines. Oh, that’s right, no other faith gets their own special fucking emergency service vehicles 🤦🏼‍♂️

@HermanaSleven @LucyTCWife @JaydaBF @MatthewBac60261 It operates similar to the St. John's Ambulance ffs - it is a Jewish-run ambulance service but it is available for use for the entire geographic community where it is based, regardless of religion or ethnicity etc.

Anyone reading about the ‘arson attack’ in London might be surprised to learn that the Jewish community have their own Hatzola ambulances. They also have their own police force called Shomrim. Did you know the Jews run parallel emergency services for their own people in Britain?

@HACKETTREF Problem is Keith when this happens at non-league level the goalkeeper's injury is always genuine. Think of your own league. Last time I was in your region the Retford U goalkeeper made a heroic save and hurt himself colliding with the goalpost. Totally genuine.

The referee is exposed here and frankly has to respond by bringing on the trainers to assess the player. We all know what is going on and this adds to the existing problem of an average 52 minutes actual playing time.
Henry Winter@henrywinter

Tactical time-outs an increasing problem in football. A few PL clubs do it. Even England have done it. Caoimhin Kelleher may have genuinely been injured - he was able to play on - but Leeds United’s frustration at the disruption was understandable. They were building, had brought on subs and then the game paused. Daniel Farke already raised concerns earlier this season. Gianluigi Donnarumma went down and Manchester City players went to touchline for instructions. Farke asked the fourth official if he was going to do something. Officials’ hands are tied at the moment. Teams getting round rule for outfield players to go off for 30 seconds after treatment. Now goalkeepers used for tactical timeouts. IFAB has discussed a nominated outfield player going off for 30 seconds if a keeper has treatment. But concern that a keeper could genuinely have been injured. Possible solution is for players to be stopped from going to the touchline during stoppages or ordered to stay in the centre circle.  Be interesting to see whether World Cup refs clamp down. It’s seeking an advantage by breaking up opposition’s flow, by giving the manager an opportunity for instructions and also it’s time-wasting - and there’s enough of that spoiling games.

@rebekkarnold The best thing they can do is get rid of the Poch return idea and appoint Enzo Maresca immediately as permanent manager.

US oil companies are set to pocket a $60 bn windfall thanks to soaring crude prices from the Iran war. Meanwhile Britain sits on vast North Sea reserves and refuses to use them. Madness

@BellaWallerstei And your beloved Tories have been in power for most of that. When another party (Labour) tries to give more freedoms back to working people, business leaders stamp their feet and say it is not viable!

No “immature men” aren’t the reason fewer babies are being born. Plenty of men and women my age want families (myself included!). What we don’t have is the economic freedom our parents had. Stagnant wages, sky high housing costs and a tax burden that keeps rising to fund an ever-expanding welfare state make starting a family feel financially reckless. Young workers are paying more and getting less while policies like triple lock guarantee ever-rising costs for a system we’re told we MUST sustain. Surely it’s not surprising people abandon plans for children when the state takes such a large slice of our future. If Britain wants more babies stop blaming men and start fixing the economic model that’s squeezing the very people who would raise them
