Too important to have it cut with fluff. Dr Wright, in Savannah, said what she said abt reading. Take it or leave it alone; it's on you. I know this doesnt sit well with many... maybe that's part of the problem. We're sitting too well with illiteracy.

We had a special day today! My friend, Dr. Lorraine Hammond, came all the way from Australia to visit! We learned about doing daily review at a brisk pace and she shared about her country! 🐨 🦘 🇦🇺

I worry about schools that choose to adopt 1/2 of #CKLA. If we only do Knowledge & skip Skills in favor of a different “phonics program” simply bc we already know it, kids miss 1/2 the writing instruction & opportunities to read rich skills-aligned texts. This is a G1 example:
