More excellent reporting from @nrarmour. Something worth reiterating: the athletes are the only ones who are facing consequences in this and they did nothing wrong. Not a single @gymnastics representative or committee member has been held accountable or provided an apology.

My pal Todd Wills passed away today after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a talented writer at @SportsDayDFW where he covered high schools and @Rangers. He was named the state's top cfb recruiting writer by @TexasMonthly. And he loved his Longhorns. God bless his family.

Coco Gauff is terrific choice to be female US flag bearer. Worth noting that 4-time Olympian Katie Ledecky, the greatest woman swimmer in history, said she “never planned on going to opening ceremonies” because she competes the next morning. That took her out of the running. 1/2

Hard Rock Stadium cleared its crowded gates with fans by letting everyone in, without scanning tickets. Now it’s a mad rush up escalators and stadium ramps into the stadium. I’ve never seen anything like this happen here and I’ve been covering events here for nearly 15 yrs.
