А с хуя ли Илья должен отдать капитанство Шейну, просто потому что они с Шейном в одной команде? То есть Илья бросает свою успешную карьеру в Бостоне, переезжает в Оттаву играть за одну из самых слабых команд. Несколько лет, находясь еще и в депрессии, страется быть хорошим капитаном, выстаривает команду с нуля, они начинают побеждать еще до перехода Шейна. И все свои старания Илья опять должен бросить ради Шейна?? И Илья, и Шейн, каждый чем то жертвует ради их отношений. Теперь очередь Шейна, который сам выбрал Илью вместо хоккея пожертвовать своим капитанством

People love to diminish Ilya in favor of Shane. They conveniently forget that Ilya is not just a "great player". He's at the top WITH Shane. Hence the whole rivalry! They both brought their og teams back to greatness. They each have their strengths, but they are at the same level

Anteayer fue la adopción de Anya "sin permiso" y ahora hacen quilombo porque Ilya no cedió su capitanía ni se la dieron directamente a Shane, pasando por encima del ruso. Ilya lleva años sentando las bases y queriendo levantar a los Centauros para poder pelear por cosas importantes (Shane vio y escuchó a Ilya luchando por este equipo todo ese tiempo), y es apoyado y respetado por todos. Es agotador que hablen como si él no pudiera dirigir un equipo y querer darle fama de mal jugador cuando también es uno de los mejores de la liga y tiene una Copa Stanley en su historial

@rozanovsjane @starboyrozzy81 Shane is so strangely dismissive of Ilya's career in general as long as it benefits him, but given they already have a conversation about a citizenship, you would think he realises Ilya's taking that kind of risk when it's not necessary is not the best or safest idea

@crashcrowns The entire point of that plot was that Shane's relationship with hockey was getting so toxic it was negatively influencing everything else - his relationship with Ilya, with food etc. Now he can enjoy hockey without ripping himself apart for it

btw if you think shane would be comfortable or willing to take the captain title from ilya, when ilya has been a huge part of rebuilding the cens into a playoffs contending team and the team means so fucking much to him, you really don’t know shane‘s character at all
