Most coaches are trying to help... but too many are making the same mistakes. @dshow23 has talked about it for years: over-coaching, focusing on wins over development, too many set plays, not teaching decision-making, ignoring spacing, not allowing mistakes, poor practice structure, lack of fundamentals, weak defensive teaching, and not teaching the “why.”
If you’re serious about player development, you better master these details. That’s what actually separates great coaches.

Last day with seniors is bittersweet. As they gathered in my room this afternoon, I got a sense of peace. They are good people. We have prepared them. They are ready for their next steps in life.
Time to leave, grow, and be challenged.
