This #WorldSpayDay, we’re reminding our community just how powerful one simple decision can be: spaying and neutering your pets! Spaying and neutering reduces overcrowding in shelters, eases strain on limited resources and most importantly, saves lives.

@AztecsGoingPro made an incredible impact by hand-crafting 460 meatballs for canine enrichment and afternoon snacks, folding two massive bins of laundry to help ensure clean kennels for 700+ dogs and preparing 100 adoption packets to help transition pets into their forever homes!

Today our Emergency Response Team rescued Jasmine, a 38-year-old palomino who had gone down overnight in Alpine. This rescue hit close to home, as "Jazzy" belonged to a beloved ERT member who recently passed away. We’re thankful to share that Jazzy is up and doing well!

Our Emergency Response Team also assisted a 13 year old horse named Jake from the Merced County Sheriff's posse. Jake was a little stressed and tired from the #TournamentOfRoseParade, so we gave him and his handler a ride. #RoseBowl

During the #TournamentOfRoseParade, our Emergency Response Team helped a 17 year old Quarter horse who went down with the rider on the parade route. Our team transported the horse to safety for veterinary care. We are thankful neither the rider or horse were injured.

They will be triaged and receive medical exams and vaccinations.

Right now our Humane Law Enforcement is rescuing more than 50 dogs from a home in La Mesa. Officers discovered the dogs and puppies had been living in feces and unsanitary conditions.
