🇮🇹 Several armed men robbed a bank in broad daylight in Naples, holding 25 people hostage before escaping through a tunnel. Three armed suspects entered a Crédit Agricole branch and held employees and customers for nearly two hours. The robbers wore masks depicting famous actors. Although armed, hostages later said the group acted professionally and did not use physical violence, instead locking everyone in a room while they carried out the robbery. As elite Carabinieri special units were preparing to storm the building, the suspects escaped through a pre-drilled hole in the floor leading into the city’s sewer system. The gang targeted safety deposit boxes rather than the main vault, stealing valuables from hundreds of private boxes, making the total loss difficult to estimate. All 25 hostages were eventually freed. Despite a large-scale manhunt involving sniffer dogs and sewer searches, the suspects remain at large.
