This afternoon we walked from St.Aubin to Tailleville where Deb presented a quilt her students made representing the North Shore heroes. Emotions? Wow. Just Wow!

This morning we walked Juno Beach (Nan Red sector) 80 yrs to the day that the North Shore Regiment landed here. The emotions are overwhelming!

Visited Beny-Sur-Mer cemetery today where many North Shore Regiment heroes are buried. We honored them. We shed tears. Our debt is immense.

This morning we participated in a memorial to the North Shore Regiment in Carpiquet. The respect this community holds for our heroes is deep and endless.

O’ Canada!!

Attended the Menin Gate ceremony tonight in Belgium. This has been done every night since 1928! “Lest We Forget” is not a bumper sticker.

Just left Essex Farm Cemetery. The poppies still blow and the larks still bravely singing fly.

Just left Vught concentration camp in the Netherlands. The reality of what hate can lead to was made abundantly clear.

Sight of the German surrender of the Netherlands to Canadian forces. Yep, we did this!!

Holten Canadian War Cemetery. The peace and tranquility of this place draws a stark contrast with why it even exists.

The Dutch people honor their World War II liberators by lighting candles on Christmas Eve at all the war graves. At the 🇨🇦 Canadian cemetery in Groesbeek, thanks to hundreds of volunteers, a candle has been lit at each of the 2619 graves, and will stay burning tomorrow.

Thanks to @JMHTommies for hosting the Special Olympics Wildcats in front of a sold out gym yesterday. The Wildcats won 36-34 with a buzzer beater by Tommie alumnus, Andrew "Sully" Sullivan.
