I exited RightMessage last year, the SaaS I'd been building with my buddy @brennandunn since 2017
I'm so proud of what we built, but it was time
Here's the writeup: why I left, the practicalities of selling a startup, the emotional ride that followed shai.io/rightmessage-e…

@wholebodyprayer 100%! no-one is broken
everyone's just following safety
it's never lack of willpower, or discipline
find a way to show your body that some other behaviour is safe, connecting, and the previous one will disappear on its own
(or don't! keep doing what you're doing. all is well)
English

You cannot shame people into consuming less.
Everything happens for a reason. Consumption happens for a reason.
When we feel lack, we want More.
Once acquired, it stope scratching the itch and we need more.
But what is the itch? The illusion of seperateness.
If you shame people they will consume even more to try and feel better.
No, instead help people enjoy what is freely given already. Help people feel the reality of elemental delight that is the incarnate universe.
It’s our birthright to enjoy our already-given life.
With the flowers, and as a flower.
.
Oh and judging others for consuming is also consuming. Its consuming a heady cocktail of righteousness and superiority. Denounce systems and cultural patterns, not individuals.

@r00k @tinyrevver And again, I don't think there's much good in doing laundry and dishes while resisting the experience, complaining how much you resent it, only doing it because you 'should' / 'have to'. Connect with your joy/agency for it or stop doing it
English

@r00k @tinyrevver There's also a tremendous amount of joy and pleasure in mundane tasks if you let yourself find it. You don't need laundry and dishes they're just good dojos for practicing accessing joy in any moment instead of thinking you need specific externals for joy

@jurebuilds This has been my experience too. Most people don't notice it in the moment. x.com/shaisc/status/…
English

@childofeternal @georgiedorothea Less sensitive people are impacted too they just don't notice in the moment, they notice the buildup of it later as discontent/misery/loneliness/etc
English

@childofeternal @georgiedorothea I'm noticing that sensitive people are highly attuned to the nourishment they get when they experience something a person put love into creating. And so they notice when it's missing/reduced (AI ick)
English

Eventually there will be a bounce back, where we realise the bots don't nourish our souls like humans do. But the road there will be bumpy
Aaron Francis@aarondfrancis
@MichaelThiessen @stuxnet_vt @laracasts I am but one man, but I think the very low level stuff is dead or dying. In part because AI can just do it, and in part because everyone *believes* AI can just do it. Same thing but different. I think the more strategic education is still necessary, but not sure for how long

@shaisc @Shpigford No pressure, but let me know if you want any beta readers for feedback :)

God is always with you.
I was just driving and feeling a bit lonely, contemplative, and reflective.
I’ve been thinking about my next move across the world, starting fresh and knowing no one, and looking for direction and clarity on the way forward.
As I was having these thoughts, a few hundred birds begin flying directly above my car for a few hundred yards down the road… almost as if to say “we’re with you, keep going.”
The music in the background also perfectly encapsulates this moment and emotional state.
Brought a tear to my eye and immense gratitude.
Quite a profound divine moment.
English

@vitobotta @Shpigford How much better our work & our life get when we can let go of how we think we "should" be and own what we want x.com/shaisc/status/…
Shai Schechter@shaisc
it's about… why capable people are feeling more burnt out, disconnected, stuck in people-pleasing than ever the ways we strive to accomplish, achieve, act a certain way to be 'good enough' and what unfolds when we can let go of those conditions and own what we truly want
