You won't see any negative tweets about KD from those guys... You know why? Because he prefers money to Houston... But when it comes to Sengun, they're the first to criticize him... You know why? Because he's Turkish and Muslim... and he's not American... Regarding Mittydata... this guy can remove the Turkish flag from his profile because he bans everyone in the Rockets community who insults a Rockets player, except when it's Sengun, he says nothing... This guy is a disgrace...

@matt_ecton96 And Phantom Menace and maybe Matrix sequels (don’t really remember enough), but those ones you said are the ones I was thinking. I think Temple of Doom is fine but the others caused me physical pain. Especially MI2 (but at least it’s so bad it’s funny).

And I love them both for different reasons. After leaving Denis’ Dune Part 2, I said that “Dune is what Star Wars thinks it is.” But Star Wars hit at just the right time in just the right way. It is unique enough to stand on its own. If the argument is that Dune deserves some credit for Star Wars’ cultural impact, then yeah you probably have a point! But if it’s that Dune deserves all the credit that Star Wars gets, well that’s like saying an athlete can’t be considered iconic in his own right because he copied some moves from a player that came before him. Or that Phil Jackson can’t be credited with the Triangle offense even though he mastered and popularized it.

Ok but one is in the story because it’s an inconsequential planet and the other is central to the intergalactic economics and politics. The fact you’d have to explain the inspiration is a sign that the product of inspiration had a greater “cultural impact” than the original.

@Matthew_Gaskin Think it’s despicable and blasphemous, but his beliefs about who Jesus is are obviously way out of line with mine and the rest of the Christian half of Judeo-Christian. So not super surprising.
