The problem with being opposition in Ontario is that so many files are a complete train wreck that it’s hard to focus on any particular one and drill it home. And people have become so used to everything getting worse, and politicians unscrupulous about accountability for delay & failures, that everyone is cynical about what anyone promises. Add to this the fact that we live in an extremely demanding information environment and stressful time globally, people are either distracted or jaded. I don’t have all of the answers, but I am exploring a run because I believe our politics has lost an ability to focus on the core matters. Our bureaucracies have become unprofessional and unfocused. We’ve opened the door to corruption and rent seeking. Many of our political leaders act as if they are above the public. What I care about is functional housing and transit systems. Health care that is accessible, competitive, and world leading. Top tier education focused on basics over indoctrinations. Efficient and fair taxation that is globally competitive. And ultimately, leveraging our resources, energy, and talent to build a world-leading economy in the 21st century. Ontarian’s need a sane place to park their next vote if we are ever to get change in government.
