so many people speak this way on here because they clearly hold a lot of pent up resentment from never speaking back to people in school, etc. so they exhibit viciousness online to strangers they’ll never have to actually confront irl to reap that sense of bravery/accomplishment
Black Archie Character@ppppp1245688

Y'all aren't progressive. Y'all are just mean and angry. But because you don't want to confront these feelings and handle the real forces that upset you, y'all get unjustifiably upset at innocent online strangers. Other people have become your outlet. A way to let off emotional

The Al Jazeera cameraman harassed is actually Palestinian from Gaza. The man insulted him in Arabic because he recognised who he was. Scenes like this mirror the kind of settler-style intimidations you see against Palestinians in the West Bank now playing out on London’s streets.
Dr Rahmeh Aladwan@doctor_rahmeh

A group of jews confronted the Aljazeera crew in Golders Green. Called them monkeys and dogs. Then told police they felt unsafe and alleged the news would go to 'terrorists'. The officer's reply: 'I understand' Not the West Bank. This is Britain.

Is this what you want? Is this what you’re prepared for? I am so fucking tired of seeing people led down rabbit holes of fucking madness by politicians & commentators who will not be affected by this. They claim it all back, while we starve. Bills are Already too high to cope.

no millennial trope has broken more brains than "you don't owe anybody anything". an ignoble, selfish narcissism dressed up in therapy-speak about boundaries and self-care in order to give yourself a pass from treating other people with a basic level of care and respect

there is no unified “national interest” in the UK because some of us have to worry about rent and bills and jobs and right wingers get to worry about easter egg adverts. and only one of the two still buys tabloids and uses facebook so there you have it

I saw this at the Financial Times. British establishment journalists have been indoctrinated—starting young at elite private schools—with the views needed to oversee the propaganda system Many have literally never had an independent thought. What they do is spout received wisdom So when someone probes one of their ideas it falls apart because they’ve learnt it by rote - there has been no conscious processing of information. They believe something, but don’t know why. They’ve just heard some authority say it The top echelons of British journalism industry are, consequently, some of the most unimpressive people on the planet. Anyone capable of independent thought - and critical analysis outside the confines of establishment shibboleths - is filtered out very early
