ユウスケさん、 パート2を読み始める前に、パート1を読み返してみました。ヨウコとサキの朝のやり取りを改めて思い出すためです。 パート1では、私たちから見ればごく普通の会話に見えましたが、彼女たちにとってはそれ以上の意味を持つやり取りでした。コーヒーを飲みながら互いを見つめ合う中、言葉を交わすことへの少しの不安が感じられました。仕事や電車の話から、何気ない世間話まで。空気が変わったのは、サキが「もう一晩泊まってもいいか」と尋ねた時でした。ヨウコのことがまだ心配だったからです。申し出に対する感謝の言葉の合間にあったあの短い「間」には、サキが泊まってくれることへの安堵感が滲んでいました。サキがそのような返事を受け取ったことは、ヨウコにとって大きな変化だったように私には思えます。 ヨウコの体調がまだ完全ではないことを気遣い、家にいて休むべきだと促すサキの声には、彼女の心配する気持ちが表れていました。しかし、残念ながらヨウコは出かけなければなりません。テーブルを横切る陽光がサキの肩を照らす中、再び「間」が生まれます。サキが「夢を見たの？」と尋ねたその瞬間、まるで時間が止まったかのように感じられました。まるでその場にいて夢を実際に見たかのような問いかけでしたが、サキにはその夢の世界に入り込むことはできないはずです。それでもサキがそう尋ねたことで、ヨウコは再び口をつぐみ、自分の夢について思いを巡らせることになりました。 ヨウコは、かかとの感触や風に乗る草の香り、そしてサキの顔を思い出せます。サキの姿は見え、認識できていたものの、彼女の言葉がサキに届くことはありませんでした。あの瞬間、そして今こうしてテーブルでコーヒーを飲んでいる間に、ヨウコの中で何かが変わったのです。私には、あの夢を境に、ヨウコがサキに対して抱く感情が変わったように感じられます。 他にも見落としている点はあるかもしれませんが、感じたことを言葉にするのは難しいものでした。ヨウコとサキに対する私の思いは変わりませんが、今後どう展開していくのか、とても気になります。 Yuusuke-san, I went back and re-read Part 1 before I started with Part 2. To give my self a refresh of the story of Yoko and Saki morning. Part one we observed Yoko and Saki having a normal exchange in our eyes, but for them it was a bit more. Each other had a bit of anxiety talking to each other while staring and drinking their coffee. From talking about work, the train, to just normal small talk. What changes the mood was when Saki asked if she could stay another night as she is still worried for Yoko. That brief pause of thanking Saki for asking sounded a bit of relief that she's staying another night. For Saki to receive a answer like that seems like a big change for Yoko in my understanding. You can feel the concern in Saki's voice when she asked if Yoko was still not fully recovered, and that she should stay home and rest, but unfortunately Yoko has to go. We get another pause as the sun light moves across the table and on Saki shoulders. This pause, this moment felt to me time stopped when Saki asked if Yoko had dreamed. Her asking as if she was there and saw it her self, but we know that Saki can't enter these. Yet Saki asked which made Yoko go quiet again and think about her dream. Yoko can remember the sensation on her heels, the grass scent on the wind, to Saki's face. Though she was able to see and recognize her, her words never did reach Saki. Something in Yoko changed at that moment and now at the table drinking coffee. To me it feels like the feelings Yoko has for Saki changed after that dream. I know I am missing more but it was difficult to write what I had observed. My feelings for Yoko and Saki have not changed, but I am curious what's going to happen moving forward.
