What Jackson ate today in Blok M area: 1) Gulai Tikungan (GULTIK) - beef stew with rice + fish crackers and sambal 2) Bubur Ayam Barito - chicken porridge (kinda like congee) with chicken innards satay as toppings (gizzards, livers, etc) 3) Martabak telur - fried egg crepe (it’s fried thin egg-y dough with green onions and ground beef, the dough is usually made using duck eggs) 4) Martabak manis - sweet thick folded pancake, usually with chocolate/cheese/ground peanuts filling 5) Roti buaya - alligator/crocodile bread it’s traditional Batavianese bread that’s usually served in important family/communal events All these foods are street foods, very local, affordable.
