During the development of Tesla's FSD, @elonmusk made the observation that neural nets is absorbing more and more of the traditional C++ code base. @karpathy saw a path to making an LLM OS similar to the movie her. x.com/8teapi/status/… Connecting the dots, this would mean that LLMs will absorb more and more of the OS over time. This seems to be tackled from different angles: 1. Using an LLM to perform functions of existing applications within an OS like Mac x.com/zywu_hku/statu… 2. Have an LLM as a base OS. The base OS will interact with other LLMs to perform tasks in cases where its unable to do or not efficient for it to do.
Starship made it to the scheduled ship engine cutoff, so big improvement over last flight! Also, no significant loss of heat shield tiles during ascent. Leaks caused loss of main tank pressure during the coast and re-entry phase. Lot of good data to review. Launch cadence for next 3 flights will be faster, at approximately 1 every 3 to 4 weeks.

We are honing in on the V3 Starship design. @SpaceX is tracking to a Starship launch rate of once a week in ~12 months. That will yield ~100 tons to @Starlink orbit with full reusability. Profound breakthrough.
