Services and products are interlinked, but are not the same. Services add value to products, so that the user doesn't have to know how to do something, or be able to do it themselves. Today the two superheroes of user centricity and inclusion, our Head of User Research @RochelleLGold and our CEO @simonrbolton opened @nhsdigital’s very own user research lab in Leeds. Many years of work has gone into this by many teams involved.

@JonnyFWilliams @angehilton @HimalMandalia @worddoodles_EP @MarMurube @Zoe_On_The_Go Definitions are important, because: 1) the scale and focus of design efforts are different, 2) the measures of success are different; if you measure service as if it's a product, you'll measure the wrong thing, 3) running live products compared to services is completely different

@angehilton @HimalMandalia @worddoodles_EP @MarMurube @teropsv @Zoe_On_The_Go That’s a totally valid point, and I think any definition needs to have an explicit “no silver bullets” clause. But, language is powerful, so I think it’s useful to have a starting point that is explicit about ideas - for instance, is a team building a product part of a service?
