Yesterday, MISO's Board of Directors unanimously approved the historic 2024 MISO Transmission Expansion Plan (MTEP24), the largest portfolio of transmission projects in U.S. history.
This comprehensive plan includes the Long Range Transmission Planning (LRTP) Tranche 2.1 portfolio, featuring 24 regional projects that provide 3,631 miles of robust transmission in MISO’s Midwest Subregion and deliver benefits exceeding costs.
MISO appreciates its members, stakeholders and staff collaborating to drive the Tranche 2.1 effort to the finish line. A special thanks to Aubrey Johnson for sharing his insight into the planning process and what the portfolio means for the future grid.
